Rehavia, founded in 1924, was originally designed as a luxury neighborhood and remains so to this day. Rechavia was the "classic garden neighborhood," founded on thirty acres of land, but the area has experienced change over time.

The neighborhood of Rehavia, one of the most interesting from an architectural perspective- a mixture of old-world and modern- and historical perspective, is located in the Central Jerusalem, North are Talbieh and Old Katamon, and adjacent to Shaare Hesed famous religious neighborhood. Close to The Great Synagogue, the Sheraton Plaza, other major hotels and the downtown district, it allowed its habitants to walk to any of those centers of interest with pleasure.
The neighborhood comprises several synagogues, wonderful shopping areas and the renowned Gymnasia Rehavia comprehensive high school. It is just minutes by foot to city center and the Old City (Kotel), with easy access to excellent public transportation.
A lot of its inhabitants are well-educated and received their education from Central Europe as well as Western countries. The large villas that were established reflect economic and social status as well as personal style – the owners hired talented architects with creative new designs.
Rechavia owes its "rural" appearance mainly to its overall garden neighborhood plan and abundant greenery.
